Volume of a Rectangular Prism
The volume of a rectangular prism calculator finds any of these four values: Volume, Height, Length or Width. A rectangular prism, also called a cuboid, is a box with six rectangular faces. Enter three values and the missing one is calculated automatically.
How it works
The volume is the area of the base times the height:
\[ Volume = Height \times Length \times Width \]
To find a side, divide the volume by the product of the other two sides. All three sides must use the same unit, and the volume comes out in that unit cubed.
Example
A box is 5 long, 4 wide and 3 high. The volume is 3 × 5 × 4 = 60. If you know the volume is 60 and the box is 5 long and 4 wide, leave the height empty and the calculator finds 3.
