Volume of a Cone Calculator
The "Volume of a Cone" calculator finds any one of three values: Volume, Radius, or Height. The radius is measured on the circular base, and the height is the perpendicular distance from the base to the tip. Enter any two values and the missing one is calculated automatically.
How it works
A cone holds exactly one third of the cylinder with the same base and height:
\[ Volume = \frac{\pi \times Radius^2 \times Height}{3} \]
Use the vertical height, not the slanted side of the cone. If you know the diameter, divide it by 2 to get the radius.
Example
A cone has a radius of 3 cm and a height of 4 cm. The volume is π × 3² × 4 / 3 = 12π ≈ 37.70 cm³. If you know the volume and the radius, leave the height empty and the calculator solves for it.
